Open Water Certification

This is your gateway to the wonderful wilderness of our world underwater. This course answers the questions "What is Scuba diving?", and "What continuing education can I take to learn more?" The class includes six pool and lecture sessions and five ocean dives. In the pool and lecture sessions you will learn to control weightlessness, become adept with the latest in equipment and familiar with the technology that makes Scuba safe. Through our knowledgeable, caring instructors and custom built pool facility the learning process will be pleasant and can be paced to the needs of the most cautious student. The open ocean portion of our program will introduce you to the Adventure Sports way in which learning and adventure are in concert with camaraderie and ocean fun.

Advanced Diver Certification

We are lucky to live on the edge of the Monterey Bay Marine Sanctuary. Below its surface is topography kelp forests and splashes of color to rival the most awesome environmental wonders of our planet. This subsea wilderness offers a lifetime of flights through unmitigated beauty. However, much of this magical marine garden is inaccessible to the untrained. The Open Water certification is your gateway to the Scuba experience.

The Advanced course will increase your knowledge of a variety of conditions, giving you the confidence to explore our marine sanctuary.

Rescue Diver

This course is specifically dedicated to train the diver in the dynamics of rescue management---enacting the actual rescue or managing a team to access the emergency network, plan rescue logistics and carry out the plan. The overall philosophy is to prevent accidents. The Rescue Diver will learn to observe conditions and divers on any outing for the potential of incident. Teaching prevention techniques results in enjoyable Scuba experiences as well as strengthening the Rescue students personal skills. The Rescue Diver course is a definite win/win experience.

Divemaster Apprenticeship

The Divemaster apprenticeship by ASU is your entry level course to the professional side of Scuba instruction. ASU trained Divemasters are crucial to the high level of quality we require in our training programs. The Divemaster apprenticeship is not a slam dunk course but an in-depth, hands-on program in leadership, organizing group dynamics to a specific objective, equipment knowledge and maintenance, teaching skills, assisting divers in training and dive expedition supervision. Our Divemasters make the Charter of ASU work.

Class fee is non-refundable, but may be transferred to a future class if Adventure Sports is notified 7 days prior to class start date.
