The 17th Annual Santa Cruz Kayak Surf Festival & US West Team Trials will be taking place on March 14-16, 2003 at the world famous Steamer Lane. This event will bring surf kayakers, families and friends from around the world to Santa Cruz to compete and enjoy our festival, water and beaches. Competitors, spectators and volunteers will find a festival atmosphere at the Lane. This includes vendor booths, kayak and gear demo opportunities, a silent auction, food booths, and, of course, the greatest surf kayak competition in the world.

We invite you to participate in this exciting event as a sponsor. There are many great opportunities available to you such as purchasing a booth to display your product; underwriting the cost of printing the informational brochures for the contestants and the silent auction; donating an item to be sold in the silent auction; or providing a product that can be given to each of the athletes. As the popularity of the sport of surf kayaking grows, so does the viewership for this yearly event. Each day of the festival, hundreds of spectators – many from the San Francisco and Silicon Valley areas – line the cliffs to watch the action on the water, take advantage of visiting the many vendor display booths, browse the silent auction tent, and venture out in demo boats. This event is a great opportunity for you to showcase your product. Each year, our booth space sells out and those sponsors see and talk to hundreds of people throughout the weekend under our grand festival tent. As this event grows in popularity, the media coverage is more intense. You can expect to read about the Festival in Paddler, Canoe & Kayak, Adventure ( National Geographic ), Outside, Blue, and Men’s Journal magazines. It will appear in every major TV network and be covered by most of the news media in the Bay Area. Plus, national networks like Outdoor Life and Gillette World Sports are often attracted by this photogenic extreme sport of kayak surfing. The marketing opportunities are tremendous.
