Tomales Bay is the northern extension of the San Andreas fault. The tectonic new earth carved a bay of rolling hills juxtaposed with jutting cliffs. Situated north of San Francisco, Tomales Bay is a California setting that will take your breath away. It's simply unbelievable beauty. Our plot to visit this environmental jewel is to leave as few foot prints as possible. We set up camp on a private stretch of beach two miles from our launch site at Nick's cove on Highway 1. Participants will kayak their personal gear to the camp. ASU will provide kitchen, sanitary considerations, and an inflatable motor craft for safety and support of new kayakers. This is a family style outing in which everyone involved helps to make the adventure a success. Participants will be formed into food groups which will plan and orchestrate meals. The rest of our time will be spent kayaking, hiking and contemplating by fire light the magnificence of California & Tomales Bay. Your soul will never be lighter.
We camp two nights on a secluded Tomales Bay beach . Activities include kayaking, fishing, tank and free diving, hiking and general loafing. A local oyster rancher delivers us dozens of fresh oysters to BBQ or just shoot. This is a great family style camping trip.
